Nina Bitton Launch Party
Last month, I was blessed with the opportunity to attend and blog about the Nina Bitton launch party in Toronto. For those of you unfamiliar with the amazing brand, Nina Bitton is a Canadian plus-size fashion line that launched this year by sisters Hanna and Muriel Amar. I had the pleasure of meeting Muriel prior to the launch party at the International Fuller Woman Expo in July, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that her sister Hanna was just as equally involved in the line.
Nina Bitton is a self-proclaimed "city chic" high fashion line, inspired by New York City's style.
Upon hearing the name of their new line, I was curious as to why the duo decided to name their brand Nina Bitton. Following the launch party, I was humbled to discover that Nina Bitton was in fact the name of the sisters' late grandmother. The ladies' grandmother, Nina Bitton was a haute couture seamstress in France, who passed on her gift to Hanna and Muriel at a young age. In their speech at the launch, Hanna and Muriel mentioned that their grandmother was always well put together. The Nina Bitton line certainly emulates this, as its collection is sophisticated, classic, versatile and fashionable.
What can you expect from the collection? Muriel describes her style as classic with a twist of "femme fatale", while Hanna describes her style as "rocker chic". Upon seeing the gorgeous dresses, it is clear that the sisters' definitely added a bit of their own flare to the collection. The collection uses classic patterns and colours (think black and nude), but also include bold colours (think hot pink and turquoise) and jewelled details on the dresses for a little extra flare.

I had an amazing time at the event to say the least. The atmosphere was so positive, full of women (and men) empowering each other in their respective fields. The event was filled with designers, plus models, entrepreneurs and of course plus bloggers! The party was the most classy, sophisticated and fun launch I have ever attended. I truly felt like a VIP upon opening the doors, being offered complimentary hors d'oeuvres and the evening's signature cocktail, chocolate martinis!
The Nina Bitton website was beautifully crafted and easy to navigate through. There are eleven designs currently available for the Spring/Summer 2014 collection, all named after women, including the: Eva, Jasmin, Yvonne and Hayley. The Nina Bitton collection is currently in production right now. While their site and client base continues to expand, the ladies are currently accepting web-orders on their site at Nina Bitton. For any additional information, please contact Hanna or Muriel on their website, they will be sure to respond in a timely manner.
Side Note: Jewelry on all of the models was provided by Rebekah Price which has a number of retailers here in Canada, The United States, Sweden, Australia and Britain (as well as online)!
In closing, I would like to leave a quote off the Nina Bitton website that has resonated with me.
