Fatshion Friday: Varsity Prep

This past weekend, I finally got around to purchasing a pair of jeans I have long coveted from Addition Elle. The Parasuco Acid Wash Skinny. I love the look of acid wash, but I didn't want it to be too overwhelming.  That way, I could still wear them with most items in my wardrobe. I also like the fact that they are skinny jeans (so I can tuck them into boots), yet they're not constricting. To say the least, I am in LOVE. These jeans, are perfect. They fit me perfectly in every part of my body, which is so rare to find these days. I have a larger waist, but small hips and butt and toned legs. Often, plus size clothing does not cater to this. I rarely find a pair of jeans that fit my entire bottom half so well. I'm going back to buy the Parasuco black skinny jean next weekend!
Note: I was recommended by a sales associate to go down one normal size than I usually wear at Addition Elle because these jeans are a bit stretchier than most, and I'm glad I took her advice.

Fatshion Friday: Fox and the Hound

Last Friday, I had an amazing sushi and shopping date in Toronto with my gorgeous friend (and fellow plus blogger) Amarina from Ursa Major +. Somehow, she convinced me to step foot into Urban Outfitters on Queen Street in Toronto, even though I was skeptical. I thought to myself how nothing would fit me in there, but dragged myself inside anyway.. but boy was I surprised! Although I still didn't fit into the majority of items, I did fit into some. I spotted this cozy sweater from far away and it was love at first sight. It was a bit pricier than I had hoped, but I just couldn't resist it. It is so comfy and appropriately loose. There is also a polar bear sweater of the same style, so of course I will be saving up for that one! I definitely will be taking a trip back to the store sometime in the near future. The moral of the story is, don't dismiss anything with out trying it!
I wore this outfit to the event I was apart of last weekend in Guelph called Consign Your Curves…

Consign Your Curves Event

This Saturday, there is an amazing event happening in Guelph! Carlie Roberts from Friends in My Closet is hosting a plus size pop-up sale, where women can buy and sell gently used clothing to other women in the community. This event is called Consign Your Curves, and it is the first of its kind in Guelph! This year, I had the opportunity to be a part of BIG Deal Toronto, where I met Carlie and we connected instantly. She graciously invited me to be a part of her event in Guelph and of course, I accepted!
Special guest fashionistas include: Project Runway Canada alum Jessica Biffi, MTV personality, Sheena Snively and Plus Model Melissa Shannon, bloggers Karyn Johnson from Killer Kurves, Carlie Roberts from Friends in My Closet, and of course, myself!
I will be selling a number of gently used plus size clothing items, accessories, handbags and potentially shoes! Plus, I know many of the other ladies (22 of them) have some great pieces to sell as well! Prices will typically range from …
