Mini Makeup Monday: Sephora Haul

Ok, ok. I know I don't do as many makeup monday posts as I would generally like to, because I am usually in school Mondays and I totally crash after. However, since today is Family Day in Canada today, I had the day off to do nothing... except I had to write an essay! Now that it's the evening and that has been dealt with, I thought I would share with you a mini Sephora haul from just before Christmas.  I do still find myself constantly using these products, so I thought I would share my secrets with you all ;) You also can probably see a couple of my skirts in the background, both of which I picked up the same day at Forever 21+ for $7 EACH! Madness.

L to R: Face Polish, Lipstick and Primer
Sephora sent me a coupon to my email for being a Beauty Insider in December. All I had to do was spend $50 in-store or online, and I would get $15 off. So I simply did just that. I spent $38 on the face polish and $15 on the lipstick, making my total order come to $53-$15= $38! I literally got the lipstick for free. With 100 beauty points, I redeemed the sample size of Cover FX's Mattifying Primer.

First off, this Laura Mercier Face Polish, is to D-I-E for. Honestly, I think it's the best skincare product I have ever used on my face, with the exception of Josie Maran Argan Oil. I put on my face polish in the shower after I use my First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser. It comes out in a orange (like the bottle) little plop and has small exfoliating beads. Make sure you don't overdo it with this product, because you really only need a dime size to make it count. I use this product every 2-3 days, not every day because of it's light exfoliation properties. It smooths my skin and I feel so rejuvenated for the whole day after I use it...5/5!

Next, I thought I would try out this primer as I was in serious need of one for a while there. When I saw it was only 100 points, I decided to go for it. I'm so sad to say this, but I was very disappointed with the product. Not only was the tube half empty when I got it, it also felt oddly silky on my skin and it did not make my foundation stay on longer or crack any less than it usually does. I definitely know of some better foundation primers on the market.. 1/5.

Finally, this Sephora Collection lipstick, called Sexy Game is one of the most versatile colour lipsticks on the market. I seriously wear it 3 or 4 times a week. It goes on really creamy and smooth, and miraculously it doesn't bleed or get all over your face if your application isn't perfect the first time. For me, the latter is definitely a requirement when I purchase a lipstick... 4.5/5
