Makeup Monday: Beauty Review of MAC Heroine Lipstick

Makeup Mondays are definitely a fun day for me. You can most certainly expect to see new posts up on the blog the next few Mondays as I review a few of my new beauty products.

Today, I want to talk to you a bit about lipstick. I for one am definitely a fan of MAC's lipsticks. I have purchased my fair share of MAC lipsticks over the years because I like their formula. MAC lipsticks come in a crisp bullet-like tube that easily fits into any compartment. What I really like about these lipsticks, are how they are sculpted to provide easy application. Honestly, I think this what I look for most in a lipstick (besides the formula itself). I have larger lips, but they are not necessarily full. Essentially, the sides of my upper lips are not even and take up larger surface area than you would imagine. Often, family members (mostly my mother) will approach me and inform me that my lipstick isn't even, when in fact, is it just my lips that aren't. Therefore, I need a lipstick that will glide on smoothly and coat my lips with ease.. there is NO room for error here.

Occasionally, I find that with certain formulae, MAC lipsticks can tend to dry out quickly. For example, my true red (Russian Red) quickly dried out, making it difficult for me to apply evenly without smudging. I truly hope the same does not happen with my new lipstick, but I have faith that it won't happen any time soon!
Last weekend, I purchased Heroine by MAC. I had really wanted to purchase a purple lipstick but I was afraid of how it would look on me. I know 'Radiant Orchid' is the colour of the year, and every beauty supply store in a 100 mile radius seems to be sold out lately. I wasn't able to get my hands on a true 'Radiant Orchid' colour, but I did purchase Heroine. I'm still holding out for that lighter version, or a true 'Radiant Orchid' colour, which I will be stalking the shelves for. In the mean time, I will enjoy my Heroine and all the compliments I have been receiving while wearing it! I highly recommend this product.
