Plus Size Fashion: ModCloth Wanelo Challenge

Today, I have something new for you on the blog. A challenge post!
Last week, a ModStylist from ModCloth contacted me and asked me if I would like to participate in this week's ModCloth Wanelo challenge. Of course, I was intrigued and excited to be approached by ModCloth, but I really had no idea what Wanelo was until I received this email.

I did some research and made an account on Wanelo (which stands for Want, Need, Love) and is somewhat like a Pinterest board but mainly for fashion, beauty, accessories and home decor. It's essentially a way to mark items that you want, need and love and place them on a board for you and your followers to see! It's honestly pretty cool, but I am still getting the hang of it. You can follow me on Wanelo here

Anyway, the ModStylist sent me an item which she wanted me to style using up to seven other items from the ModCloth website and post them on my Wanelo page. The item that was assigned this week was the Fruity Suity One Piece (available in plus size).

I decided to style the suit in a way that I would actually wear it. I like most of my clothing options to be versatile, so I tried to use the suit as an item of clothing to be worn off the beach for a casual stroll or even lunch. I also didn't want to cover up the suit because I think it's so unique and adorable! Therefore, I paired it with an airy skirt in kelly green, a white button up (which could be left open or buttoned up), strappy summer wedges, retro glasses, a watermelon fan and a picnic basket beach tote for a more vintage-y vibe. We all know summer is on its way, hopefully soon rather than later! I for one am dying to get into a swim suit and hit the beach. Sure, I may not have the best beach body right now, but that's why a one piece suit like the Fruity Suity would be perfect for me to wear to a public beach. Really, I'm just as confident as the next girl, but let's face it, I can always use a bit of help in the curves department. I find it hard to be interested in a garment that is not flattering.. it's a simple principle really. That's why I am pleased to announce that this suit has very appropriate ruching to enhance those curves, not accentuate them! You can see other pieces of swimwear from ModCloth here.
