Makeup Monday: First Aid Beauty

I've been a big fan of First Aid Beauty for over a year now. To be honest, I'm kind of surprised that I haven't blogged about this wonderful brand yet. The first FAB product I ever used was the Ultra Repair Cream (pictured below) which I got as a free gift at Sephora!

L to R: Ultra Repair Cream, Face Cleanser, Ultra Repair Lip Therapy & Ultra Repair Concentrate

As soon as I finished my sample size of the Ultra Repair Cream, I went back to Sephora to purchase a larger bottle. The repair cream comes in two sizes (a 2oz and a 6oz); however, I find the squeeze bottle to be much more convenient than the tub. Honestly, this cream is absolutely amazing. It is so moisturizing and saved my hands from cracking all winter. Another use I have for this cream is religiously applying it to my elbows (daily) as I have extremely rough and cracked elbows. I can finally say that I am starting to become less self-conscious about my elbows now because of this cream!

I am a big fan of the Face Cleanser by FAB due to its lightweight feel and its scentless odour. There is nothing worse (for me) than a strong-smelling facial cleanser to use first thing in the morning (think St. Ives Facial Scrub). When I wake up (and go to bed) all I want to do is feel clean, that's it. I also love that this cleanser is not exfoliating at all. I've done my research, and it suggests that we are OVER-EXFOLIATING our faces! We really should only be exfoliating once every 2-3 days, can you believe it? I use the Facial Cleanser daily (sometimes twice a day) and Laura Mercier Face Polish which I reviewed HERE.

I first purchased the Ultra Repair Lip Therapy in the winter when I developed some serious chapped lips. This product was an absolute LIFESAVER from November to Mid-March. With one quick swipe on in the morning and afternoon, it kept my lips moisturized and blister-free all winter. This is more than just a lip balm. It's definitely minty though, so if you're not into that, I would skip out on this one (maybe opt for a Burt's Bees instead?).

I picked up this Ultra Repair Concentrate at an American department store around Christmastime because it was so inexpensive that I couldn't leave it. I have to say, although it is quite a good product, it's not a necessary one. There really is no need for you to have the Ultra Repair Cream & Ultra Repair Concentrate in your beauty bag simultaneously. Essentially, both products do the same thing, except the concentrate is a little more heavy duty. It's supposed to help extremely dry skin and alleviate eczema. I have mild eczema, but unfortunately I did not see many results when using this cream. I am also disappointed because it dries out relatively quickly.

My favourite thing about First Aid Beauty is that their products are almost entirely fragrance free. This is especially important for me when selecting a facial cleanser or moisturizer. I don't really have sensitive skin, but I can imagine for those who do, they struggle with scented products, as well as those which have many active ingredients.

What is your favourite skincare brand?
