Makeup Monday: Narsissist

It's been a while since I've written a beauty post! I really miss beauty blogging, especially about makeup and skincare. I've mostly been on a bit of a break from this cause I had been saving, and not spending this month! However, I finally realized that I needed to make a trip into the store when I discovered that I had run out of some essentials. I've visited Sephora a couple times recently and I have happened to pick up a few things on my trips! During my most recent trip, I stocked up on some of my fave NARS products.

For those who may or may not know, it's Thanksgiving weekend in Canada right now. I spent my weekend with family on the water in rural Ontario. Some of the time was spent up at my aunt's beautiful wood lodge (which has an exposed-brick wood stove). The setting was perfect for some photographs, and I thought it would be cute and festive to shoot my products with a bit of an autumn theme.

When I was at Winter Fashion Week in NYC this past February, I stopped into Sephora Times Square to touch up my makeup after long travel times. While there, I realized that I was also in the market for a new foundation - so I had one of the artists help me find the perfect match. I've used many many foundations in the past, upgrading when I need to, based on my current beauty needs. I go through phases where I like to be more matte, then dewy, have minimal coverage or full coverage, be darker or lighter.  However, on this day in NYC, I feel that I found the perfect day-to-day neutral foundation, NARS Sheer Glow. I have been a loyal Narsissist for months now, but due to some winter travel, I was getting away with a much darker shade Ceylan (Light 6). Last week, I got with the program and finally went to Sephora so I could test out some new colours (I'm quite proud I accomplished this on my own, without a cast member) and ended up with Mont Blanc Light 2.

I think it's fair to say that the foundation is a perfect match and gives the most beautiful sheen and glow (also much thanks to the beautiful weather and sun up north).

Since it's my birthday month (woohoo! discounts and perks from my fave stores) I was able to redeem my Birthday Gift from Sephora! I have been waiting all year for these babies, these lip pencils, also by NARS. I have used different shades of NARS lip pencils in the past, including Cruella (shown here) when my mom got her birthday gift last month. I seriously couldn't wait for my own set to wear on a regular basis. Finally, my birthday month has arrived and they are here!!!
